Incorporated in 1959, Trail-A-Sled, Inc. quickly grew to elite status among snowmobile manufacturers during the heady 1960’s when rising public demand for these innovative little machines was creating an entirely new industry. Along the way, Trail-A-Sled, Inc. and it's subsequent firm Scorpion, Inc. built an industry-leading reputation for quality, dependability and design, becoming the second largest domestic manufacturer of snowmobiles and a leading employer in Minnesota’s beautiful Central Lakes Area. Scorpion Trails is dedicated to the memory of that amazing time and the men and women of the Cuyuna Range who made it happen.

Scorpion Homecoming
Scorpion Trails is also your official source for Scorpion Homecoming information. Founded in 2005 and sponsored by the Cuyuna Range Chamber of Commerce, Scorpion Homecoming brings together large numbers of Scorpion enthusiasts at the birthplace or Scorpion Snowmobiles - Crosby, Minnesota.

Start Your Engines! Make plans to enjoy our brisk, February weather and attend the Vintage Scorpion Snowmobile Homecoming sponsored by the Cuyuna Range Chamber of Commerce with assistance from the local snowmobile club, the Sno Serpents. Held annually in conjunction with the Serpent Lake Ice Fishing Contest, the homecoming is a welcome opportunity for former Scorpion employees, racers, collectors and snowmobile enthusiasts to gather at Crosby Memorial Park.Scorpion snowmobile was responsible for many of the industry's early
innovations, including stylish fiberglass construction and continuous rubber
track which revolutionized the industry. Scorpion energized the community and
provided economic stability during a time of transition from an iron-ore based
economy. Although Scorpion closed its doors in 1981, recent years have brought a
resurgence of interest in the firm's designs. Hobbyists collect the machines and
many painstakingly restore them to their original, showroom condition.
The Scorpion Homecoming event showcases these snowmobiles from the early air
sleds to the final Sno Pro championship racers. After trophies are awarded for
Chamber's Choice, People's Choice and Peer's Choice, admire the vintage
Scorpions as they start their engines and form a line for the trail ride around
Serpent Lake.
